lofrans windlass

I disconnected all switches and the motor is stuck in the up/on position, is this a control box/ solenoid issue. Any advise would be appreciated

Re: lofrans windlass

There is nothing in the motor that could stick in the on mode, so it must be the relay.

Re: lofrans windlass

You may find that the relay box is assessable to the contacts inside. Its not uncommon for them to carbon up and its a very easy fix to get to them and clean the point contacts with some emory cloth. Some relay boxes are sealed (Chinese) and not assessable but Ive found the Italian ones can be opened up to access the contacts.
