Lofrans Project 1000 Windlass

Just returned from the Toronto boat show where there was a good deal on a Lofrans Project 1000 windlass, which is the appropriate size for my 38 foot Bristol. Has anyone had experience, either positive or negative, with Lofrans windlasses?

We had a Lofrtans Cayman, 1200watt, horizonatal unit that operated tropuble free for ten years and two trips south. A very good windlass

we have the lofrans project 1000 on our 38ft cat and are very happy with it....dont know about the price in CA/US but here in europe they cost about 980 euros, we use the one for 10mm chain
