It looks like the
motor on that
windlass has three high
current terminal lug bolt posts.
On my windlass, also with three posts, one of the nuts was over tightened when the
boat was built, causing that bolt to eventually fail.
The result was that the windlass would only drive up and not drive down.
My solution was to disassemble the
motor and replace the broken bolt with one that I created by modifying a purchased part.
My
repair has remained intact for well over a decade.
