Lighthouse 1501 wiring issue

Is there anyone here that has wired the sub mariner circuit on the lighthouse 1501? If so, I'd like to tap your knowledge base a bit.

Re: Lighthouse 1501 wiring issue

What, pray tell, is a "sub mariner" circuit on a windlass?

It's a distribution box with all the connections for the various controllers.

Wireless, cockpit, foot switches, and roving remote.

OK, thanks for that, but I don't understand the origin of the name. Doesn't matter, for I can't help with that specific windlass. Good luck with your search.

Their roving remote is a waterproof unit, and the panel box itself is waterproofed as well. Name probably derives from that.

Re: Lighthouse 1501 wiring issue

Sounds like a complicated affair! But being able to control the windlass from the helm is great for singlehanding, and I understand the attraction. FWIW, I have long admired the Lighthouse line of windlasses. Excellent design, good bearings, sprague clutches, stainless housings... all good stuff. Wish they made a vertical!

Yes, control from the helm was one of the attractions for me. I haven't had a chance to use this one yet obviously, but I have high hopes that it will make my life a tad easier at times. At present, that isn't the case.

I have a 1501 but no remote. My experience is that the company answers emails quickly and provides great support. Suggest you email them with your questions.

Re: Lighthouse 1501 wiring issue

Thanks, yes they've been great at helping me so far. I was just being impatient after struggling for the last few hours. I'll take a break and get after it again tomorrow.

Re: Lighthouse 1501 wiring issue

They responded to my email by 10 a.m. this morning and resolved the issue. They may not be as slick and polished as some outfits, but they get the job done right in my opinion.
