I recently received my
Lewmar Pro 1000
windlass from a
repair shop in Toronto. It was sent for warranty
repair, but found out the
electrical motor is not cover beyond 12 months, yet the mechanical part is for 36 months. There was evidence of
water intrusion (
corrosion and
salt deposit) but I was told it is to be expected to find
water inside ! After numerous discussion about warranty with the repair
mechanic, I realized he wanted me to pay for a new
motor. I declined and requested that my
windlass be returned to me. I received my windlass in pieces in a cardboard box. I have the mechanical abilities to put it together but can't find a detailed breakdown of my unit on the web or on Lewmar's website, does anyone have any info,
Thank you
Michel
