anchor watch on the old navman plotter works o.k / we had one hiccup in an anchorage near point westell south Australia where the 50ft distance alarm started going off due to the increase in swell height / possibly the fastest up anchor and sails and underway outward bound ever achieved / at that stage the wind hadn't arrived we made the deep water safely and continued on / not a recommended anchorage

You might also visit the wr_wakefield's (SV Denali Rose) blog http://svdenalirosenc43.blogspot.com/
As they have a system onboard that monitors a lot more than the ship's position/anchor holding. And one can check on various things onboard via cell phone when on shore. For the most part it seems like a handy thing worth having. Plus there are a lot of other excellent articles there. Go take a look

Location: vessel sold at LAKES ENTRANCE to a local. Currently nursing my 93 Y/o mother in Sydney. Next boat probably will be bought in the U.S.
