I dunno, looking at all the instructions that came with it, it must have been a bear to use.

I suspect that it is one size larger than the manufacturer recommended....

Re: Discovered a 3,400 year old Egyptian Stone Anchor.
There wouldn't be hieroglyphs on an anchor. That was a much more important building, that someone pulled down and made into an anchor.
Yes, I believe it could have been part of a Fortress

I'm not very good at reading hieroglyphs, but I think it's called ... an ANKH-or.

Looks more like a Mahjong piece than an anchor to me.

Re: Discovered a 3,400 year old Egyptian Stone Anchor.
The instructions printed right on the anchor clearly show that the shackle bow goes through the hole in the anchor shank, the shackle pin goes through the rode

Interesting, neither concave or convex.

Re: Discovered a 3,400 year old Egyptian Stone Anchor.
That slab might not be all of it?
I saw several historic Polynesian anchors as we crossed the Pacific which were also stones with a hole in them, but in addition they had a suitably sized lump of wood jambed/secured into the hole at a 45*ish angle, presumably that bit into the seabed, whilst the rock provided weight, those Egyptians might've done similar?

Re: Discovered a 3,400 year old Egyptian Stone Anchor.
I think it would hold as well as a Danforth on a rocky bottom.
