10 mm chain

We just bought 200' of 10mmMaggi chain from Budget Marine (in Curacao), but I have my doubts about its quality, as a couple of feet show the galvanising chipped off and "horny" links!.
The picture shows a "good" part and a "not so smooths" looking part of the same chain. Does the high standart Maggi chain suppose to look like that?
Thanks
