Chain size for Maxwell VW500

I have a Maxwell VW500 on my Catalina 320. On the chain gypsy there is the number "203", which I understand signifies the chain size required. I'm getting differing information. Can anyone let me know what suitable metric size chain would fit and does it matter whether it has to be DIN 766 or EN818.3. I think they have same widths but different pitches.

The Maxwell 500VW Owners Manual stipulates 6mm (1/4") "short link" chain. On your boat, 1/4" G4 will work nicely. For more information contact Maxwell at "Make and Enquiry". The company has been very responsive in past.

FWIW...

I don't see it on their site any more but I downloaded an excel spreadsheet from Maxwell listing their chainwheels.

The 3132/203C shows as being suitable for 7mm DIN 766 or 7mm EN-818.

I would take the wheel off and bring it to a store that sells chain. If that's too much hassle by 1 foot and test it before you buy a long length. I have 4 Links of chain that fits my windlass that I take whenever I'm buying used chain to make sure it's the right size. Or buy a bit longer length and use it on your dinghy anchor after.
