Sounds like another derelict.
Not sure why you or anyone else would anchor near a boat so poorly kept.
Herding instinct?

We passed it up last time thru. Decent hobe sound anchorages a ways south and have more fast boat traffic .

I didn't. It dragged a long way. It was in fairly decent shape for such an old boat. Others in the anchorage claimed it had been dragging for over a month.

The Hobe Sound anchorages don't have access to the Atlantic Beach. It's a 50 yard walk fron Peck Lake.

Re: Bruce or CQR
Well once again the Bruce is the bottom of the barrel and as seems to be the normal the CQR is the middle of the road anchor .
Anyone that wants to give me a CQR in the 35 pound range well I will take it

Wish you were close to my location. I've been trying to unload a 35 pound delta for $10. Good condition

Mason Supreme or a Rocna. CQR for a back up, Danforth back up #2. It depends on the holding ground type.

I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t do that to a fellow boater. And that would be to both the recipient of the anchor and all those unfortunates that anchored next to him. [emoji4]

So what do you use?
My CQR has never failed me on any of my boats .
From my little islander 24 to my spencer 42.
From 25 to 45 pounders.
All over the world just never sailed the Atlantic.

Re: Bruce or CQR
CQR always failed me, but we use a Mantus. Honestly, there are so many better options out there and it’s such an important part of safe boating.

No I don't want a Delta they don't hold as good as the CQR in 99% of the substrates I have ever anchored in . Good luck unloading it . Check for a local forge they may want it to melt down to make knives with .

The first anchor we went to after the CQR was a Delta, held so much better. But now the new gen anchors hold so much better than the Delta.
Of course this is just personal experience as is yours

For me it would be the Manson then the CQR then the rocna . The Danforth is great in soft to hard mud .

Maybe if I raise the price people will know how good it is.
