Re: Anchor marketing

No arguments on the test medium or the disadvantage the other anchors were put under. I did see some apparent fouling of the Fortress also.

Just I know everyone is pointing out that disadvantage. I am just wondering if the Mantus was in that same chain of anchors, say only one chain was pulled from the truck, and it still outperformed the others under the same medium and disadvantages would it be "even" and fair test? Disregarding the tests flaws..

Also note, I am a happy Fortress FX-37 owner. It's my primary right now because I have pudding for sea bottom in my area. I will be in the market for a Mantus or Spade when the time comes to get another anchor.

I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I think that the Mantus will perform better in this type of hard wet beach sand than other anchors due to its narrower shank / fluke angle, no matter how it is rigged.

Thanks for your kind words about our product. As a side note, I don't think it is a secret that the Mantus owner has a Fortress FX-37 and uses it for the same reason you do. As I recall, he gave the Fortress more stars for soft mud on their published rating chart.
