Anchor Chain Grade Stamped "A"?

Hello. Can anyone help me identify what this mark means on my anchor chain? It looks like an "A" on every link. Thank you!

Re: Anchor Chain Grade Stamped "A"?

If I remember correctly as it's been a while, grade A chain is the only chain rated for overhead lifting; think cranes lifting loads over people. It's strong but not sure about corrosion resistance.
