Zodiac still good?

When I was young Zodiac was the king of the hill for inflatable boats.
I got a free one many years ago and trashed it myself due to it blistering.
I have heard many negative comments about Zodiac ever since.

I am looking at purchasing a 1997 Zodiac 310 with a solid fiberglass hull and a 9.9 Evinrude outboard.

Should I be worried or are Zodiacs problems in the past?

Thanks

Re: Zodiac still good?

Worry, they haven't been good since the days of real hypalon, and glued together by very careful French ladies. ....maybe since the 1970's.

Re: Zodiac still good?

Mine leaks at the transom. It has been professionally repaired and still leaks. (Before I bought the cat)
The dude who repaired it said he wouldn’t touch Zodiac any more.

Re: Zodiac still good?

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like I will avoid Zodiac.
Any other brands I should avoid or some that are recommended?

Re: Zodiac still good?

Stay away from Walker Bay. They don't stand by guarantee. Had dingy repaired had an authorization number and a year later got a call from repair shop that they hadn't been paid. Also they said boat was a year newer than the hull number said. Replaced it with an Achilles best move ever.
