Zodiac Projet 350 Repair

This may be a long shot but.... Anybody have any experience with this?

I am trying to repair a water leak from around the sterntube on a zodiac projet 350. (Don't ask... a crew member ran over a line and made a real mess.) I need to know how the sterntube is attached to the hull. Is it siliconed???

Any suggestions on how the repair should be done?

Stay away with siliconen from Hypalon. A special glue is needed that you can buy at any shop that is able to repair inflatables.
I have a Zodiac repairset but the type of glue is not indicated. But no silicones! Also no epoxies etc.

Edit : It is a 2 comp. "Neopren" glue available in different qts.
The original material of Zodiac is HYPALON but they moight have changed that over the years.

The problem is not with the pontoons. The water leak is from the joint of sterntube where it attaches to the fiberglass hull. The sterntube is a tube that the jet shaft goes through.

I got curious and searched the Zodiac website and I can't find out what material that your boat or any of their rid's hulls are made of. I might have just missed it though. You would need to know that before you could do the repair.

If it is FRP than it is just a general fibreglass job. Nothing special. But check what the bottom material is. To me it is just ordinary fibreglass.

The ridgid hull is fiberglass. I have no questions about that.

I am looking at the sterntube and how it is attached to the hull. It looks to me like it is attached with a silicone or some similar adhesive and that some of that has come loose/ broke off causing the leak.

I am not sure of the sterntube material yet... FRP? Metal?

I am looking for ideas of how to reattach it and seal the leak.

You better make some pictures as the underside of the Zodiac 350 is not to be seen. The sternunit consists of more elements. It is not clear what you are pointing at. The largest Dutch inflatable dealer is not far away from here and I can always ask him.
