Yamaha/Mariner 2 hp outboard carb

I have a pre-1990 Yamaha 2B 2 HP outboard motor which after a day of messing around we have decided has a carburetor fault. It runs for a few minutes then floods or dies.

We've stripped the carb once (not the ideal thing to do on the marina pontoon - it needs watchmaker's tools!) and I've now managed to find a better environment to do it again.

Ideally I'd like to procure a replacement carb so I can work on this one at my leisure. I can get a compatible one shipped in from Japan at an absurd price (more than GBP200). I can only find after market/refurb ones for the post 1993(-ish) models.

Will they fit? Or did they change the carb in the mid-90's?
