Yamaha 8hp model number?

Hello. I have a question concerning my yamaha 8hp outboard. i cant seem to find out what the model number is. there is a sticker on the exterior of the unit that says, among other things, Family:6ymxm.1972ga, but when i use this to search for parts, nothing comes up. how can i tell what kind i have?
Ps the engine is deffinitly not from 1972 either. its no later than a 2005.
