Yamaha 5hp 2 stroke help please

White smoke at the start for 2 /3 minutes then ok
Engine got under sea water and broke arm
I washed it throughout abundantely and carefully
I had the arm welded back and fixed it
Cleaned candle
Cleaned carburator
New speed cable (maybe not tied enough to, maybe too much, maybe Ok.... the the chamber door open well... it seems to me...)
I need to leave air 15-30% open -and at times to regulate- if I close air, engine dies
Otherwise rest ok

This is like me speaking in Spanish, only better. Buy a new carb. You can't clean them well enough.

Sounds like water is leaking into the combustion chamber.

I'm still trying to find the candle on a parts diagram.

Running/ fuel probably finished drying it out.

Surprising how many come back with immediate attention.

Regards

Re: Yamaha 5hp 2 stroke help please

On most two strokes the fuel/oil mixture goes through the bottom end of the motor before it enters the combustion cylinder. I'd think some water moisture was still in the bottom end but has now 'dried out'. I wonder where the salt was left? mmm

Note: not same in old GM detroit diesels with a blower!
