What do you think of this as on-island transport?

$830, 300 LB capacity, 10-15 mile range, 22 MPH top speed, and built to handle rough terrain. Plus, you don't have to be a kid to ride one. Anyone tried one?

Skateboards are very popular with cruising sailors

Re: What do you think of this as on-island transport?

Pretty cool. I switched from bicycle to longboard about 3 or 4 years ago. I was living at an island marina and taking the ferry into the city for work. A bike is a pain on a ferry and they got stolen if you lock them up outside.

A long board was the perfect fix for me, I kept it behind my desk. They are fast, efficient and easily managed on public transit.

The down side was a was black and blue all over for the month or so it took me to learn to ride it.

I was warned "you're not going to bounce like you used to". I figured it out though. Great fun too.
