What Dinghy Is 'Unsinkable' ?
A friend of mine told me that there is hard dinghy that is unsinkable and its mostly used by people who sails a lot. As far as I understood it has like a double hull and between these hulls some kind of foam. I can't get in touch with him and ask the name of that type of dinghy.

Re: What dinghy is unsinkable?
U.S. law requires that such boats have flotation. So, flotation in dinghys is not unusual but is expected.

Re: What Dinghy Is Unsinkable ?
Not all dinghies made out of wood. I wasn't looking for a dinghy that float... I was looking for the one that can not be sunk. Thanks guys.

Most of the dinghies mentioned here will continue to float while swamped which to me would be at least one definition of 'can not be sunk'.
A grenade will sink any dinghy I can think of. A dinghy that could survive a grenade is probably more than what you really had in mind.
I expect that what you are looking for is somewhere in between, but we need a bit more guidance. Please define 'can not be sunk' as you intend it.

Re: What Dinghy Is Unsinkable ?
Nothing of significance is unsinkable. Even an iceberg will melt. Submarines, destroyers, ferries, cruisers, battleships, freighters, frigates, cruise ships, lifeboats, sailboats, motor boats, aircraft carriers, fishing craft, mine sweepers, barges, liferafts, tug boats, passenger liners, ad nauseum, have all been sunk. There are no guarantees.

If the craft is afloat, it hasn't sunk, right? A USA-built dinghy built in recent decades, by law, has flotation so it shouldn't sink in normal circumstances unless one overloads it. If you have a good PFD, you shouldn't sink either, at least in the short run.

The only boat that has ever been unsinkable was the Titanic. Oh wait, nevermind.

The original tender to do this was the Boston Whaler. Their original advertisements showed a whaler that had been cut in half that was still floating.

Re: What Dinghy Is Unsinkable ?
All rigid boats under a certain size are built with positive flotation so that if they do swamp they still float.
