Watertender Modification

I just picked up a water tender 9.4 trihull. I really love it but hate that it has so little storage space to lock things in. There's a small space on the rear, and its obvious there's a lot of unused space throughout the boat (e.g. the seat in the middle is a huge hollow). Anybody modified one of these to add more space? Any considerations if I try? Any reason not to?

Re: Watertender Modification

I put a good sized Igloo cooler in the front, use it to store life jackets, anchor and rode, lights, whistle, two stroke oil, and whatever. Don't worry about locking it but cable and padlock(s) would probably do the job.

Re: Watertender Modification

I just got one and I'm thinking about this as well. My plan is to cut 2-3 small 6-12" round holes and mount inspection plates such as from WM or Academy to cover the holes. These are for rowing or a max 5hp outboard, in my case I have a 3.5 merc outboard. They are also built very solid I think this would work well.
