Re: Torqueedo fault codes E30 , E32 , lazy OFF switch

I read a lot of negative reviews of the Torqeedo motors before throwing caution to the winds and buying one anyway. I usually pay for such foolishness, but so far the Travel 1003L has worked very well. I should add that I use it very little, just for driving my Portland Pudgy to the shore and back to the boat.

Overall, it seems flimsy and not that well thought out, especially considering the two grand price, but I can't find anything else that allows me to forgo carrying petrol or multiple propane cannisters for my Lehr 2.5HP, which is for sale, by the way.

I wish another manufacturer would come up with a competitor to Torqeedo; anyone who deliberately uses the letter "q" not followed by a "u" has to be a bit doggy. A really good idea would be to design the motor to use powerful and readily available professional camera batteries such as those from Anton Bauer.

Fair winds,

Leo (with fingers crossed)

Yes. Many people have reported it. Mine usually happens when I go from forward to reverse very quickly or hit the bottom. You just need a restart to reset the code. The off switch does need to be pushed a little too precisely for my taste and since you have to hold it down you don't know whether it is down for a while so it can be a pain.
All in all just minor annoyances to an otherwise great motor in my opinion. Much better then the predecessor model but does have room for improvement.
