Re: Torqueedo

Why not sell the Torqueedo while it is working and get a gas jobbie. I think you have gone above and beyound the call of duty, time to let some one else suffer.

Torqueedo

We’ve been happy with our ePropulsion Spirit 1.0. Quieter than the Torqeedo and longer battery life.

This is on our backup dinghy. Our primary has a 25HP Yamaha.

Re: Torqueedo

New model Torqeedo 1103c coming soon. Direct drive like ePropulsion. No gear train whine. I'll be keeping the Enduro 15hp but would much prefer a light solution for the times it's not worth hassling with the heavy Yamaha. Free refills of electricity, although not that much in real dollars, would still make me smile.

Re: Torqueedo

The Torqeedo 1003 is perfect - for a wading pool. If you buy one, you will have constant range anxiety, inadequate power, and utter unreliability. My favorite Torqeedo feature is the automatic shear pin failure, which you will enjoy simply by running the motor; perhaps that's why they sell the shear pins in 12-packs.
Overall, the construction is as robust as a plastic toy, but you do get to pay almost twice as much as you would for a gas motor.
Do not buy one!!!

Learn from the sorrows of others.

Fair winds,
Leo, former Torqeedo owner.
