Southern Pacific Puffin Feedback (Kiwis ?)

I am considering a Southern Pacific Puffin Pack Down inflatable dinghy as a replacement for a 20+ year old Bombard AX2 which is starting to show its age!

Has anyone got any useful feedback?

The main attraction (for me) is their very light weight, it seems most small inflatables are significantly heavier than either my old AX2 or the Puffin. However I wonder if there is a trade off between weight and robustness even though the AX2 did not suffer from any such trade off (IME).

Southern Pacific Puffin tubes are made with “VALMEX nautica” by Mehler Texnologies is a PVC coated, 1000 den. (polyester) fabric; similat to what Bombard/Zondiac and other budget dinghies use.

Thanks Gord, I appreciate your input; now where are all the Kiwis on this forum, surely some of them must have knowledge of Southern Pacific?
