Re: Radar Arch Fail - Cautionary Tale

Yes, Atlantic Towers. The first arch was fine until one of the legs became unattached from the boat, then all hell broke loose with a heavy side swell. The new arch is made out of schedule 80 tubing, instead of 40. Should be much stronger and stiffer. Also, I did not re-install the solar panels on top, a weight savings of over 100# up high.

Cheers, Bill

Re: Radar Arch Fail - Cautionary Tale

well this has been interesting. Especially the positive feedback from customers of Atlantic towers. I've been looking at putting one on our catamaran, and placing six long tubes across the top going forward to a frame attached to the aft cabin edge. This is to support six flexible solar panels but they would be between the arch and the cabin. I'm glad to hear that people like Atlantic Towers products in general. I haven't run across any other 'arch in a box' suppliers, and I need someone who can do the custom bends for the extra pieces I need. Are there any alternatives?
