We have to reattach some rubber handles and rings to our PVC dinghy
. We're using Polymarine two part adhesive
for PVC and also some hypalon adhesive
(also Polymarine) for the rubber parts
. We'll use the solvent beforehand as instructed.
Here's my question: Polymarine website states to do the repair on a day that's "warm and dry. Excessive humidity will cause the adhesive to bloom". What's excessive humidity? Living aboard
in the PNW the best we can do is about 55% humidity. Do we have to construct a tent and buy an air conditioner to attain "dry"???
Just hoping someone else has gone through this and can tell us any info, success, disaster, I just need some kind of data on the practical meaning of dry.
As always, thanks folks.
