problems when hot

I have a Tohatsu 9.8 on a Walkerbay 11' tender, in the morning the motor starts immediately, In the afternoon when it's hot it will not start, in the evening it starts right away.....live aboard and use the dink 3x day to walk the dog, rowing an inflatable is no fun when any chop or wind.......is it vapor lock on the tank?, the motor?...what to do?

Probably you have a wrong spark plug.

The spark plugs are good and the correct size, I figured what happened as in the days when cars had carburetors like the SUs on British sport cars, when it's super hot and the motor is in the sun the gasoline left in the carburetor vaporizes creating a block. I did the following and it worked; before I turn off the motor I disconnect the fuel line to the motor and store the tender under the boat (catamaran) so it's in the shade, when I go to start it again I reconnect the fuel hose and it starts, two days now, with the extreme heat we are having.

If ití a fuel vapor lock that can be cleared by pumping the bulb, the lock will vent and be replaced with liquid fuel.

However itís very common for ignition coils to break down when they get hot, itís actually usually how the present a failure.
