Mariner Outboard

Hi forum friends,
a friend of mine just bought his first boat (a 1995 Beneteau 400) which came with a Mariner 9.9HP outboard for it´s dinghy. It hasen´t been used in over two years but the previous owner said it was fine the last time she used it. I am helping him out refitting his boat but I have no experience with Mariners. Is there anything special I need to look for apart from regular maintenence before I try to operate it?

The are similar to omc.Check the thermostat as they are prone to oxidation.Careful with bolts they break easily.marc
