Lewmar Hatch Screens - Magnets?

Hey hey!

Random question. For some reason I always find it a pain to take the big screens out of the two Lewmar hatches. I know... Its only a couple of things to flip onto them. But...

I had an idea.. What about putting some sort of magnet setup on them to make them easier to just put on and take off?

Anyone tried that?

If this will not work you can flame away... I will take it.

I don't have Lewmar hatches, do yours have magnetic/ferromagnetic metals for magnets to stick to? Magnets don't stick to aluminum or 316SS

My wife likes using 3M Dual Lock strips for things that need sticking/unsticking

I believe mine are aluminum but I was thinking about some of that magnet tape I have seen at the hardware store. Not sure how strong it is.

I think hardware magnetic tape would corrode pretty quickly

Maybe something like a Nylon window cam

It's not just the problem of taking them in/out - the screens pop out of the frames after awhile, and you can't adjust the hatch while they are in.

Here's a better solution. Use these loose screens that throw over the hatches instead. They are great.
