Jetboats as dinghys

https://www.williamsjettenders.com/t...t/minijet-280/

Does anyone have one of these? Are there competitors? Are there other plausible alternatives for jet-drive tenders?

They seem awfully heavy for those of us who don't have superyachts with dinghy garages.

Asking due to a recent close encounter with a wing dam.

How about a jet drive outboard? You lose something like 30% of the horsepower, so have to go with a bigger engine, but other than that they’re pretty cool.

If you want to use them for more then a year you have to take them out of the water every evening and flush with fresh water. I think this is only for superyachts where you have crew available for these chores.

That is a lot of weight for only being able to hold 3 people.

They are properly understood as a pile of rocks placed right at the edge of the navigable channel in, probably, 1904, extending up to the (then) surface of the water, which has since been pushed around by ice and barges, and covered by water now that the river is kept higher by the locks and dams, so that it poses an uncharted hazard to anyone trying to get from the navigation channel to the bank of the river.
