Inflatable Storage

I need to store my RIB for a long period in the shed. Would it be better to store it inflated or deflated?

Re: Inflatable storage

I don't have any official dogma on this, but I would suggest that you leave it inflated enough to stretch out any wrinkles, cover it to keep crap from settling on it, and if it is a PVC material, rub it down with Armor-All or some other protective coating.

If left deflated and "compressed", folds in the rubbing strake and other glued on bits can lead to separation.

Good luck with it.

Cheers,

Jim

Re: Inflatable storage

Watch out for mice, for some reason they like to nibble on inflatables.

Re: Inflatable storage

I left one for about 4 years in a garage in MI, inflated. It was ~ 6 years old when it went into storage and worked fine when it came out.
