Inflatable Dink Valve Removal

Trying to remove the inflation valve from a Lodestar air floor, but the valve does not want to come apart. I have the correct key to unscrew the outer part but no luck.
Any tricks to make things work??

I did some googling and someone suggested the application of hot water, so I'll give that a go at when next at the boat, which will have to wait 5 weeks as it is back to work today
