If you could have any 13ft tender

Greetings!!

We're looking at tenders and our boat can handle a 13ft on davits. What would be the best tender for diving? I like Highfield, AB, and Novurania. Should I be looking at something else? What options are important to you?

I follow several world sailing couples on YouTube (Project Atticus, Gone with the Wynns, Sailing Soulianis) All use Highfield.

Awesome boats. Not sure why they seemed to have dropped the sailing version though. Always loved the versatility of that one.

Of the standard RIB's that I've seen close up, the Highfields are a step above the others. A lot of it's in the details that are not obvious from brochure photos. There are little details that they just put more thought into, like the hemming of the grab handles, and the nylon washers that isolate all the SS hardware attaching the bow locker hinges, and the SS rings that are pressed into the lift points to prevent your lift shackles from wearing through the aluminum. The bow locker lid fits and seals well, many competitors it isn't bent right and has gaps. Also, the way the transom gussets are welded to doublers on the hull that spread the load. The only other brand that comes close, from what I've seen is AB. AB also has the advantage of being able to order them in bare aluminum, so you don't have to deal with failing powdercoats or paints.

The OC Tenders look amazing, the only downside I can see is price, and you don't get as deep a V in the hull, which some say reduces it's stability in rough conditions. But that also makes it plane up faster and with less power. Also, you can apparently order those with a sailing kit, which would be a no-brainer to me.

Either mine, which is an AB Lammina AL13 fitted with a jockey console, or the Gala 13' Atlantis Sport. Mainly, I wouldn't get a RIB without a jockey console now that I've had one.

As an FYI, the Gala can take a 50hp and the AB a 40hp. Bigger is better.

Thanks guys - I have seen the Highfield tenders on the shows and they seem very nice. I was just worried about them being sponsors of the youtubers thus not getting a realistic critique.

I've always been a fan of Novuraina. Anyone have experience or thoughts on these?

I'm really looking for a RIB, even know the other types shown seem nice.

I have one of these on my Lipari, Very happy with the performance, planes easily with 9.9 2 stroke, plenty of fishing room.
