Good Fuel Containers?

We will be sailing our boat in the spring on about a 7 day sail and I would like to carry some extra fuel along, just in case. I have a Catalina 30 with an Atomic 4 so we will be carrying gas. Obviously we will need to store these on deck and intend to secure them near the bow.

Question is where can I find a quality fuel container? Most gas cans and gerry cans seem engineered to leak which of course I can't have. So any ideas?

Hard to find good ones. The "Blitz" ones are getting worse especially now that they have changed to a permanent pouring spout that sticks up and has a switch on it. Looks like one good wave will fill it with sea water. WM has some that cost about $30. I have not tried them but they seem a bit more robust. "Blitz" used to be fine and at a good price but their latest ones are useless for boats. Might do ok sitting in the garage.

Scepter - About Scepter are the best I've found, although it's becoming hard to find the vented models, which I strongly prefer.

There are always the military surplus metal cans, to be found at www.cheaperthandirt.com or www.sportsmansguide.com among other places. Sometimes new, often used but still quite good. If I was going to carry any of them on a boat, I'd mask over the seals and add a couple of coats of good paint to the can first.

The race jugs from somewhere like Jegs or other race car suppliers are the ticket not cheap but.....

Ditto on the Scepters. The mil-spec cans are the best, but more expensive. I have several of the civilian models--gasoline, water, and diesel.
