Dinghy Valve Issue

Greetings, I have a Highfield 340 with a leak in the front chamber. I have been unable to find any leak with soap bubble test. So assuming that the leak is in the valve area I tried to remove the valve and it appears the base part is rotating also. Am unable to remove the valve.
Before i do anything which might makes things worse I thought I would reach out for help. Is there risk that the base drops into the chamber and complicates the repair?
Any suggestions before I try a little harder to remove the valve?
Thanks - am in remote Bahamas so hoping to DIY repair.

Re: Dinghy Valve Issue

When you did your bubble check, did you check the seams as well as the fabric?

[We had a seam leak one time, and it was hard to locate, and hard to fix, but do-able.] Haven't had a valve fail.

Re: Dinghy Valve Issue

I had to replace a broken valve once, 1st you need a good valve removing tool, the plastic ones broke in my case, I ended up making one out of steel. I deflated the dinghy, ended up using channel locks with a towel for protection to grip the inside part.
I wouldn't recommend playing with it unless you know for sure it leaks, using the soap trick on the whole valve will show a leak.
Worst case scenario I've used Slime tire sealant for small leaks very successfully, it does not gum up the valves.
