Re: Dinghy

I waited until Defender.com had a sale, I got a 10' Zodiac for $710.00 last year. West Marine had the same thing for $1250.00.

Re: Dinghy

I just received an email from defender yesterday, they're having another sale on inflatables, you'll pay about 60% of the normal WM price for the same model in zodiac as. The WM brand.

Where are u located? Gander mountain at Augustine has 2 new old stock dinghys left and on clearance one is mercury airdeck 270 hypalon u could get for about 1100. The other is a mercury hypalon active v 310 fiberglass rib. Asking 1500 u could get for around 1300. Both boats are 08's but 10 year warranty starts when u purchase it. The rib is incredibly light! !!! I grabbed a hypalon 270 from thebother location nearby. Loving it!

Have you ever patched a dinghy? I've looked high and low here for material for about two weeks. Appreciate any help.

Re: Dinghy

No, I haven't done it. I researched it once and over and over they said that cleanliness is key. There are inflatable repair businesses that would probably sell you some material. I know of 2, The Dinghy Doctor in San Diego and Sal's Inflatables in Alameda, Ca.

Re: Dinghy

You can buy patch material from any marine dealer, but look for an abandoned hypalon dinghy (or pvc if that's what you have) and offer to take it off the marina's hands, then cut it up into patches.

I have a used Livingston 8. Easy to splash with two. Doable with one. They plane with a 6hp and cost around $250 used. Works for me.

Re: Dinghy

Hi, we are needing to upgrade our tender from an old AB 12' RIB. At this point I have considered some usual suspects such as AVON. However, the other day I came across the Zodiac Classic Mark 2 HD, inflatable, not a RIB. We have teenage kids and are very acitive on the water, snorkeling, scuba, tubing, beaching, etc. Out boat has davits and stoage on the foredeck for open water crossings. However looking at the weight and rollup characteristics of the Zodiac seem appealing. Any of you think we will be not satisfied moving away from a RIB? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
