That's been our experience as well. And the 747 or 757's move more air than any other 12 volt fan out there.

Yes, I have not heard good things about the Bora, but people love the 47/57. I'll get some in the future, darn things cost way more than they should though

Re: Caframo "Bora" Fan

I don't know the model number on ours, but they are open and don't have a cage around them and are on a mount with little teeth that let you set it in specific position angles.

They are 16yrs old and run just fine. Not dead quiet, but quieter than most other fans. We have a Hella of the same size that is a bit quieter, but only moves 1/2 the air. And if you get a finger caught in the Hella, you will probably lose it.

Re: Caframo "Bora" Fan

I also have a Caframo Scirroco Model 807. It moves a hell of a lot more air than the Bora and after 3 years of intermittent use hasn't given me any problems. But like the Bora it seems the bloggers either love them or hate them. Same issue as the Bora's too, perceived early failure in relation to the cost of the device and not able to repairable.

I was so surprised by the difference between the Bora and Scirroco in the amount of air they move that 1) I'd never buy a Bora again and 2) if possible I'd recommend comparing fans before buying one.

Re: Caframo "Bora" Fan

I just googled the Bora and Scirroco. The Bora looks just like our Hella and the Scirroco looks just like our Caframos, only with a cage around it.

I also googled for ours - they are either the 747 or 757, it isn't apparent to me what the difference is between those two.

I believe the 47 comes with a plug you can plug into a cigarette lighter plug, and the 57 does not
