Breeze Booster 2024

My 28 year old boat came with 6 portlight breeze boosters, and after 8 years one is still functional.

Should I just get more breeze boosters, or has technology progressed in the last 20 years?

i.e. is there something better available?

thanks!!!

Re: Breeze Booster 2024

I've had an ATN Dorcap for almost 10 years and it lives on deck in sub-30N latitudes almost all the time. I recently replaced, as the prior is getting a bit tired but is still working

Not cheap and rightfully so (it's a complicated fabrication) but unlike the BB it will keep even fairly heavy rain out when the hatch lid is opened to below the height of the baffle. Light rain, you can keep the hatch fully opened. The instructions call for installing fasteners to your deck but if you put some thought into it you don't have to do that; I have figured out how to tie mine down instead.

Re: Breeze Booster 2024

I believe that the he ATN Dorcap is used over hatches, whereas Jordan has a portlight [inward opening window] application.
At roughly $60 each, it’s your call.
