AB Dinghy locker filling up with water

I have a 12 foot AB Navigo VS.

The assumption would be that the front locker is at least semi-watertight to put dry things.

But it fills with water so fast.

Plus, there is no way to rain it, so the water sits in there until I get around to sponging it out. There is no way for it to naturally drain.

Am I the only one with this problem?

Has anyone out there been able to make theirs waterproof, or done anything to at least let it drain

Re: AB Dinghy locker filling up with water

Bump.

I just bouht another Caribe, this one will be my first with an anchor locker.
I was looking at it today and it seems like it can be made watertight.
Am I right?

Thanks

We have an Avon that we have to bail the locker all the time.

Why not make it drain?

We mostly make sure ribs drain to a common bilge with pump. Works pretty nicely.

Re: AB Dinghy locker filling up with water

Because everytime it rains and you get 6 inches in the dink while its pitching tied up behind the mothership at anchor the water will get inside the drain hole.
I have never had one with the bow locker, I heard someone complaining they had to constantly bail rainwater from the compartment. Thats crazy, that cant be acceptable.
They cant all fill up with water each time it rains.... or do they?
