Re: A tour of my dinghy

Sound worked ok for me. Nice dingy - it has much more storage than my RIB. Do you know how much it weighs after your mods?

Re: A tour of my dinghy

In the last scene he didn't appear to have the
dead man lanyard on.

Great video however!

I saw this poster in pictures of another CFer's boat. Seems appropriate to this thread :

Re: A tour of my dinghy

I've seen a number of these inflatables with a steering console. Only the very big ones have any room for stowage... most of them seem like a boat to run about the harbor in *sitting* in a proper seat. I use my dink basically to move myself, my mate, my dog and all the provisions we take aboard and all the stuff we take off.. trash, laundry, gear and so forth. The dink is a work boat. We rare use it to *explore* or to dive... though this is one of its uses when the environment calls for this. I don't have davits... haul up the OB and tow the dink which is not a great solution but considering we need a dink and stowing on deck is not an option I make do with towing. But a 10' boat would be my limit and the one I have works for all my needs. The dink in this vid hardly seems what a cruiser would have, but there are some very nice features.

================================================== ===
Apex 11 foot dinghy (mine) is 169 lbs
Add the seat and wheel + 60 lbs
add battery + 10 lbs?
add 20 hp 4 stroke yamaha +120 lbs
other junk +10 lbs
369 pound total!
I strap her down very well to avoid dynamic loads.
