Z Spar mast corrosion - how bad is it?

Yet Z spars did just that and condemned the mast.

Although, I’m not sure there could ever be any other outcome from somebody selling you masts when they inspect one. Ha ha

To finish the story - I went down to Mylor in Cornwall to view the yacht and mast, met the riggers who showed me the problem areas and it turns out that the most serious damage that led to the mast being condemned was a substantial crease on the front face of the mast about 6 inches above deck level, caused by extreme pressure from a dyneema strop attached to the boom kicker (they think probably caused in a violent squall as the mast looks so skinny and thin anyway.....). This caused deformity in the most stressed part of the mast and rig, boom is salvageable so now looking around the market for a new mast with three sparmakers pricing up a new one. Thanks again for your help and advice.
