wire & rope to rope halyard

I have a Ranger 29 and need to replace the jib halyard. Can I use halyard rope? Does anyone know if my boat has the right masthead sheaves or if in the case it's the v type could I get away with using 7/16 or even 3/8 halyard rope? Thanks for any advice

Re: wire & rope to rope halyard

I changed all mine. The wire/rope sheaves were made for either.
But I had new sheaves made and replaced all sheaves last time the mast was unstepped.
