when to change split pins or rings on rigging

Just setting up for another year and wondering when most change out split rings or pins on rigging. I have done it every second year or when they look worn. All the pins look great so when do ppl change those out?

Re: when to change split pins or rings on rigging

They are never intended to be reused. If you remove them, toss them. A mast is a very expensive bit of kit.
Riggers always advise not to use rings, only split pins. They tend to be conservative and wise.
I presume you don't leave your rig up all year.

take it down every year to check and store for the winter, so I may change to all split pins this summer.
