Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to clean this sail myself? Don’t want to damage the Dacron. Is a medium nylon bristle scrub brush ok? Would Bronners Castile soap take off the green stuff?

I cleaned my main with Simple Green. Turned my sail light green.
Dacron will absorb dyes easily, even if you wash it off rapidly. I also think it degrades the strength of the fabric. I won't use it again.

back in the day when we had race boats with dacron sails (yes, i really am that old...) after each long race we would throw them all in somebodies swimming pool. give them a good soak for 2-3 days

the mild chlorine level cleans the sails up nicely and never harmed any in any way

One other note about Vacu-Wash and Sail Care commercial sail cleaning companies is their process removes creases, a particular issue with in-mast furing Dacron mainsails.

I hang my main sail from a rope from a house window and out to a step ladder which is
held down with a70lb battery, then low power spray a soap on auto dilute, let it set in for
a well ,then power spray with water on a wide setting as is softer and removes the soap
and grunge as well the mud wasp nests mud .Then let it hang to dry. This works for me.
