Howdy and thank for your reply. I looked into Alps site and the best I can read....they're wire is manufactured by KOS. KOS, seems to be made in different overseas locations i.e. Vietnam, Korea ect. I have emailed them so as to clarify.

I have a Hylas 46 and plan on departing Sept. for the planet. Needless to say, Im trying to pay attention to wire location regarding longevity/safety.

Thanks
Don

Re: USA Rigging?

Don, I talked with our local rigging shop here in Portland, they service the heavy lifting, logging and marine companies in the area. I asked the same question, where do they source their stainless wire? It comes from Korea. When I asked about US suppliers, they said it was available by special order and was quite expensive as in twice the price.

They have test equipment and do destructive testing and know their stuff.

Re: USA Rigging?

Have you tried Loos? They list their cable “origin” as “domestic”. It has been a while, but I have always had good service from them and find the products good quality but have never even asked about source.
