I hear that at least 6 major named storms are expected this year in the Caribbean/Florida.
So, this year (in the firm believe that if you prepare right, you wont need it....) I am getting the
boat dock-lines prepared and ready for quick, planned deployment.
Doubling up on all lines tends to make my
dock cleats look like some boats bottoms - all fouled up.
To "fix" that, I am planning to use 7/16" Amsteel Blue soft-shackles around the
cleats, with the
dock lines looped through the soft-shackle.
I will add chafe guard (firehose jacket) around the dock line loops, but do I need to also put the soft-shackle in a chafe-guard of it's own, or is the Amsteel chafe resistant enough to just use it bare around the dock cleats?
