Tensioning fractional rigging.

Hi all,
just seeking some guidance/advice for tensioning my standing rigging. I am sure there have been many previus posts, but most vary in parts, so hoping to get some conformation about what I have read and done so far.
I have a 9/10 fractional rig on an Oceanis 50. I have used the 2M folding rule methos to tension the cap shrouds already, but what I read on the 'Seldnen site' is that I should tension the fore/aft rig to 20% with a max of 2 degrees bend to aft?
I know that when I tensioned the cap shrouds, the amount of force applies to get the 3mm stretch was huge and was worried about it, but seems to be 'normal'
Just want to check that what I think should be the fore/aft tension before going ahead. At the moment, the backstay is what I consider to be really loose, so want it to be as good as I can get it, 1) to have the confidence and ability to do it myself, 2) the satisfaction of doing it without the cost etc of paying a rigging company to do it.
BTW, I have twin swept spreaders and an adjustable Selden backstay. Furling main and Jib furling.

Regards

Ray.

Re: Tensioning fractional rigging.

A tensioning guide allows you to pretension the rig for sea trials

Only after sea trials can the final adjustment be made

Get the mast in the center of the boat

Get the fore and aft position , rake , correct ..... headstay length

Pretension

Sea trials

Your present regime sounds correct
