Stanchion base for toe-rail?
We're looking for some stanchion bases that bolt onto our Goiot 822 aluminum toe-rails. The Goiot stanchion bases are no longer available (& hellishly $$ when they were) but other bases will also work. We have 2 from St. Martin, but don't know the brand.
If anyone has info on where we can get stanchion bases, or brands that might work, we'd love to hear about it!
Thanks!

Joe,
Try asking the Wauquiez Owner's Group on Yahoo
wauquiez-boats : Wauquiez Boats
Several others have been looking for bases and might be able to help you out. Not sure if your rail is the same as a Centurion as they were made at the same time as your boat.

We have a similar stanchion set up on our toerails. There are a few different kinds of bases. We have a C&C 35 MKIII and use the Type D base.

There is a Thai fabricator in Phuket Town that makes custom parts in all sorts of metals. One man show. Take him a sample and he can cast one up.

Seen your cat at the yard getting the extensions. In my email below there is a Thai fabricator on the road from Phuket Town to the Deep Sea Port that casts all sorts of fittings up if you have a sample or a drawing. a one man show. I am located in Chalong and have 3 catamarans in Phuket. 2 finished and one in build so know my way around if you need help.

Thanks Lizardo. Can you give us any better contact info? Our number here is 081.081.2339. We've actually found the stanchion bases we need, but we have other bits we'd like fabricated.

Hi Jon, What are you extending? Nathan, (ANA LUNA) might be interested. She is on the mooring in front of my house as we speak.

Re: Stanchion base for toe-rail?
Hi Blue - We're giving Ocelot a MAJOR refit. Extending the transoms (swim platforms) 3', extending the bows a few inches, new rigid bimini, replacing all the balsa in the decks with foam (& new glass), new cockpit teak, new gelcoat above the waterline, new epoxy below, new galley, new varnish inside, etc, etc.
The main thing that Nathan might want to know is that Wauquiez did NOT de-core ANY of the screw or bolt holes they made into or through the balsa coring. Very unprofessional, IMHO, but maybe it's a standard production short-cut.
We're writing up the day's work every night, with a new page every week. Just finished Week #48 (although we haven't been working all that time, as we were home for 2 months).
