Re: Seeking Forestay Release Lever

Still looking?
Got a brand new ABI Inner Forestay Release Lever 2148 ch. A few cosmetic scraches from storage over the years.
It's for 10mm wire (3/8), change to a smaller stud.
But it might be to big and heavy for your needs?
Can drop a few pics later today if you or anyone else are interested.

I know that they are hard to get today and the "copies" are priced for lotto-winners.
Offers over 500usd, or I''ll keep it.

Re: Seeking Forestay Release Lever

I have one. We are in Dominica right now so shipping may be a problem. It is older. I do not want anything like $500.00. You may want to have it re chromed. When I can find it I will send pictures. It is for 3/8 wire but you can bush it.

Re: Seeking Forestay Release Lever

FYI, while I truly miss ABI, Hyfield levers aren't all that tough to either; make, or improvise. The latter for peanuts, plus the cost of a spare turnbuckle & a QR pin.
As in essence, the levers are simply camming mechanisms, with a long lever (mechanical advantage) on one part of the cam. You can find the plans for such levers & similar online, if you get stuck sketching out your own (design).

Re: Seeking Forestay Release Lever

Highfield levers are not that expensive, all rigging manufacturers stock them. Cheaper than a decent sized turnbuckle.
