Samson MFP Eyesplice - Cover/Core

Hi, I'm using Samson MFP floatline for my dinghy painter. I've tried a few ties to open the braid and can't seem to separate the threads enough to open the core.

Samson indicates this is a Class I splice -- any tricks for opening the cover to extract the core? The cover seems very tight.

Thanks-Don

Sometimes the cover is super-tight, especially on smaller diameter lines. Nothing for it but to dig away between the cover strands with the smallest fid you have. It might help if you slide some cover back toward the extraction point to give yourself some slack (cheat, we call it)

Thanks -- I'll keep at it.
