Hi all. We have to replace our main sail. We have requested quotes from a couple of local sail lofts. While researching our options on line I noted that Sailrite makes sails as well as selling the raw materials to sew together yourself. Has anyone had them make a sail for them? If both sails are equal, the cost was almost $800 cheaper to have Sailrite do it rather than the local sail loft. While I try to use local guys for work that we can't do, the money saved could be used on other items in our refit.
I can't speak to their quality but I would suggest that you make sure that both sails are comparable. Stitching, leach lines, material, etc. It doesn't take much of a difference to make up $800
